PILATES, A BALANCING ACT (£15)
Improving balance, building strength and finding stillness within movement

Join me on this 90 min dynamic Pilates workshop to connect with the deepest layers of your body and your self as we explore balance and strength from a complete different angle.
Balance can take many forms and shapes. It gives us a sense of grounding when we feel how the strong base of our body connects with the ground. Balance also communicates stability, strength and determination.
The art of finding this balance in our body is also a fun and exploratory journey. Wobbling is the best feedback we can have to understand how we can use the whole of ourselves, in collaboration with the different parts of our body, as well as our minds and soul. Likewise, balance exercises nurture proprioception and the ability to know where we are in space. Something that is crucial to prevent injuries (or when recovering from them) and to promote a stronger and more aware ageing of the body and the mind.
During the workshop, we will exercise key muscles on the mat individually, and progressively work our way up into standing poses finding balance, strength and a sense of grounding from different approaches.
This will be a workshop in which you can use your creativity and imagination to have a better sense of how your body moves and how you use the whole of your being to find stillness and flexibility within movement. These are skills that are transferable to many aspects of our daily life and which play a big role in how we use our imagination and shape our vision.
This session will also give you the opportunity to deepen your Pilates knowledge and technique. We will explore the different dimensions of this beautiful form of exercise that fosters the benefits of Intelligent Movement for the body, mind and soul.
