Intuition, self-expression and awareness of the self are just some of the many benefits of movement. I fell in love with Yoga, Pilates and Animal Flow because of the powerful effects that these practices have in my body and my mind. The three of them challenge our physical and mental abilities by taking us beyond what we think it’s possible. It builds resilience through awareness and action, embarking practitioners in an endless journey of self discovery, self-improvement and growth.

 

Growing up, I used to train in many different disciplines; such as swimming, tennis, running, mountain biking and windsurfing. However, my approach to movement and skill learning changed completely when I became an adult dance student experimenting with Ballet, Modern Dance, Salsa, African dance and Bollywood dance.

Pilates, Yoga and Animal Flow gave me the opportunity to explore new ways to connect with my self (my strengths and weaknesses) in a way in which my creativity and imagination played a big role in how I moved and achieved things. My regular movement practice not only makes my body stronger and more efficient but it also has a powerful transformative effect in the way I live and face life’s challenges. Moving also has a big positive effect on my creativity and on how I use my imagination in work and in life.

Influenced by my movement journey, I like to encourage people to enjoy moving as who they are rather than how they think things should look like.

Before moving to Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, I taught movement sessions in Hong Kong and Mainland Spain. In London you might have seen me teaching at several studios across town: Sweaty Betty Shoreditch, Slice Fitness, The Well Garden, Kuu, For the Core, Virgin Active, Grace Belgravia, Re:Centre, Essence Of and Down to Earth.

I am also certified to teach Barre, TRX-Suspension Training and PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique).

Join me on this 90 min dynamic special session to re connect with the centre of your body.

In Pilates, the powerhouse is the focus of all movement routines and it refers to the muscles that create the energetic power of the body. Being aware of your powerhouse helps with the execution of effortless movements whilst defying gravity in a graceful way.

 

CORPORATE SESSIONS

Pilates, Yoga and Animal Flow are wonderful forms of exercise to counterbalance the bad postural habits of working at a desk for long periods of time. They also help awaken our minds by pushing us to think and move in unexpected and challenging ways.

My corporate movement sessions leave people uplifted for the rest of the day. I focus particularly on those muscles that are most neglected when we seat all day or spend hours working in front of a computer. On top of this, the mind and body connection required to embrace these sessions positively influences and boosts productivity and creativity. I like to challenge my clients with fun transitions that require coordination and imagination while they have fun on the mat and improve their self-confidence, intuition and self-awareness.

 

I have had the pleasure of meeting Iris on 2020 and experiencing her Pilates classes online. I found the rhythm and consistency of her class to be productive and beneficial for the body through her well thought out and organised style of teaching.
I have also collaborated with Iris for Diversity Moves - An event celebrating the diversity of movement. In planning and facilitating the event, I understood Iris to be a woman who was capable, passionate, efficient and sensitive to the needs and purpose of the project. You should consult your physician if you have any concerns or doubts about your level of fitness or if you need to determine whether this is right for your health. Do not do any of these exercises if you have any injuries or conditions that might get aggravated. The body is different every day. Be mindful and listen to your body. You can always follow the exercises at your own pace and do as much as you think/feels best. You exercise at your own risk.


My sessions are not suitable for pregnant women OR if you have given birth in the past 12 weeks. If you are post-natal do make sure you have been cleared by your doctor to exercise. These are not post-natal specific sessions, you must be mindful as to how much your body is ready to do. And do so at your own risk. You are advised not to do these sessions if you have had significant physical injuries or surgery in the past 12 months and/ or significant history of cardiovascular disease, including angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, 
….
If you have any medical conditions, injuries or other conditions which may affect your participation in the proposed exercise activity you must gain consent from your GP prior to participation.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANT TO ENSURE:

There is sufficient space to perform the exercises safely and move freely without obstacles or obstructions, free from furniture, equipment and other hazards – a minimum of four square metres per person

-Any equipment is safe and in a suitable condition for the activity being performed

-The surrounding floor space is entirely clear to remove any hazards that may increase the risk of slips, trips or falls

-There are no distractions throughout the duration of the session

-There is sufficient heating, lighting, ventilation and hydration.

The £16 package is only available for those who want to take 2 classes per week (Thursday and Saturday), on the same week.

I will not be able to offer any advice on Zoom. So make sure you check your ZOOM settings and laptop or device settings before taking a class and before making any purchase.
