JOURNALISM
A SELECTION OF MY WORK AS AN INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT & FREELANCE REPORTER IN ASIA (2006-2015)
I began my journey in Asia as an International correspondent in 2006. I was first based in Hong Kong, until I moved to Beijing to cover the 2008 Olympic Games.
It was an experience of witnessing transformation, change, rampant growth, innovation and disruption at any possible level. From the rebranding of China as a country and political system to the local and the international audience, to the engineering process behind hosting the Olympic Games in a country and a city that was coming from a history of being closed to the outside world for centuries. It was a unique moment of extreme uncertainty and speculation! The world, particularly the West, was expectant to find out how China would emerge as a world power and as an Olympian nation.
Throughout the years I worked in journalism in Asia, I was sharing stories on business, politics, society and finance for several International media outlets:
Al Jazeera English
Radio Netherlands Worldwide
Forbes India Magazine
The Corner EU
Revista Consejeros
Catalan International View
Catalunya Radio
Spanish Television
Diari Ara
Diari Avui
COM Radio
IB3 Radio
I was also a member of the Speakers Committee of the Foreign Correspondents Club of China. As part of the event management team I co-organised, designed, chaired and moderated speaker events and panels featuring leading economists, academics, diplomats and decision-makers from China and Asia.
