On this 75 min dynamic special session you will reconnect with your breath and discover a new approach to create harmony within movement.
We will start with an introduction to breath in Pilates and how it facilitates movement. Progressively we will move into a one continuous flow where you’ll be able to explore the different dimensions of breath and movement through a soothing workout.
Your breath represents your self and everything you are as a person. In movement, how you use your breath becomes a manifestation of your voice.
Learning how to breath consciously and with purpose empowers us and it helps us to tune in into the uniqueness of our being. Breathing is a necessary step before taking any action or initiating any movement. Being aware of how we breath becomes the difference between imitating movement or creating it based on who we are. As a result, nurturing an awareness of different breath patterns facilitates our adaptation to different physical and mental activities, as well as our changing environment.
In Pilates, breath is the most important foundation of this form of movement. Following a specific breath pattern encourages a connection with the deepest layers of our abdominals. And therefore it facilitates the execution of movement in a more efficient and effortless manner that is consistent with who we are and how our body wants to communicate through movement.
This workshop is open to anyone. Even for people with no experience in pilates and who wants to experience movement with a focus in breath.
